I am originally from a small town in southern Indiana and made my way to the big city of Cincinnati where I completed my undergraduate education at Xavier University (where I met my husband, Nate) with a degree in psychology. I fell in love with the Jesuits and completed my medical school education at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. I traded in the Windy City for Cowtown as I completed my family medicine residency and an additional year of Maternal Child Health Fellowship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. During residency and fellowship, I traveled to Kampala, Uganda, where our team of fellows operated alongside Ugandan physicians on the labor ward at Mulago Hospital. After fellowship, I worked at a federally qualified health center in Memphis, Tennessee, working in the outpatient primary care setting as well as providing operative obstetrical care. I am excited to join the faculty of the UT Nashville FMR (and live in a less humid area of the Mid-South!). My professional interests include caring for under-served patient populations, maternal/OB care, resident education, and physician wellness. My husband and I love traveling, outdoor activities, and exercising. We welcomed our first child in 2019.
