Emergency Medicine Interests:Bedside ultrasonography, Procedural and airway management, Resuscitation and patient throughput
Dr. Beier attended medical school at the University of Virginia and completed his residency at the Hennepin County Medical Center. He previously served administratively as the Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and currently serves on the Physician Excellence Committee at Saint Thomas Rutherford.
Dr. Beier has been actively involved in the American Academy of Emergency Medicine for many years and currently sits on the Board of Directors at the national and state level. His legislative interests include due process, preservation of physician autonomy and the physician-patient relationship in the rapidly developing health care climate. He previously served the American Academy of Emergency Medicine at the national level as the Chair of Governmental Affairs, and currently serves as the National AAEM PAC treasurer.
Dr. Beier’s other outside interests include full-time management of a 180 acre beef cattle cow-calf farming operation. He also enjoys spending time with family with four children, non-spectator water and field sports, and fine wine.
