Residency Application Process

Family Medicine Residency Requirements

The following documents must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS):

Dean's Letter
Medical school transcript
Three letters of recommendation
USMLE and/or COMLEX transcript
Personal statement
Applicants with previous residency experience must submit letters from their previous program director

Foreign/International Medical Graduate applications must include:

A copy of your ECFMG certification
Copies of all: ECFMG, FMGEMS, FLEX scores
At least two letters of recommendation originating from the USA
We accept ONLY J1 visas
Graduation from Medical School should be within the last three (3) years. If not, you must have worked as a physician in a clinical setting for at least 2 years in the last 5 years.

Deadline

We will begin reviewing applications as soon as ERAS opens. Interviews will be granted on a rolling basis. Applicants will be contacted via ERAS asking them to email our coordinator to schedule their interview.

All residents must pass a criminal background check before they are allowed to start work. Residents must pass USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX-USA Level 3 to be eligible for a third-year appointment. Failure to pass the required examination by the beginning of the third year of training will result in non-renewal of the resident’s contract.
